Peloton drops a new beat, partners with Defected Records in first-ever DJ residency

Peloton announced a brand-new partnership with Defected Records, a renowned dance music label – the partnership will include live DJ rides for members to enjoy. Keep reading below to learn more.

Announced on March 13 via a press release, Peloton debuted its newest partnership with global dance label, Defected Records. As a part of the collaboration, Peloton Studios London (PSL) will host live DJ rides beginning March 21. The rides will three live DJ rides and six cycling classes that feature custom mixes created by some of Defected Records’ DJs.

Leanne Hainsby will teach the first class on March 21, and it will include a custom mix created by DJ and BBC Radio 1 host, Arielle Free. Other DJs confirmed to be doing live mixes include Ferreck Dawn and Monki. Peloton’s UK instructors leading the classes include Ben Alldis, Leanne Hainsby, and Hannah Frankson – the music during the rides will be house and electronic.

Moreover, for the live DJ rides, Peloton will actually be providing not only unique music for class but a unique visual experience as well, “similar to that of nightclubs” with a DJ behind the booth in the studio as the music gets mixed live.

Peloton Members and non Members will have the opportunity to book and attend these classes, with the content also streamed live to Peloton Members at home. For all Defected classes (both custom mix and live DJ), Peloton Studios London will have a distinct look and feel with elevated production enhancements such as lighting and haze. All of these elements are designed to elevate both the in-studio and at-home experience.

With this new partnership, Peloton and Defected Records are excited about creating a club-like fitness experience, combining people’s passions for music and movement. Gwen Bethel Riley, Peloton’s SVP of music and content partnerships:

At Peloton, we’re committed to content innovation and, with this residency, we’re creating an immersive and entertaining experience. Each class is designed as a celebration of music, movement, and community; and will transport Members from their home or the studio and straight to a Defected club night.

Defected Records is geeked about the collaboration, too. Tom Glover, Defected’s head of brand partnerships:

We are thrilled to be partnering with Peloton, providing the ultimate soundtrack to the brand’s offering of world-class fitness content. Transporting Peloton Members straight to the dancefloor with mixes curated by Defected’s unrivaled roster of DJ talent, together we can amplify the energy of workouts with the best in house music.

Each of the Peloton x Defected classes will be available to Peloton All Acces and App+ members.
