It’s been quite the journey for Evie Ring, which was first introduced at CES 2022. Now, the Evie Ring has started shipping to customers. Head below the fold for more details.
The Evie journey
When it entered the smart ring market in 2022, Movano-backed Evie Ring set itself apart from its competition – Oura and RingConn – by being a smart ring designed for women. Using biometrics to track sleep and activity, Evie Ring also tracks heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, mood tracking, menstrual tracking, active minutes, calories burned, and more. The ring itself features a flexible design, allowing it to accommodate to swelling or other fluctuations in ring size.
To ensure that the Evie smart ring made sense for its target demographic (women ages 30-70), John Mastrototaro, CEO of Movano Health, brought in a range of expert female advisers to help with commentary on women’s health in addition to hiring women in executive roles at the company itself. While I don’t believe that hiring women deserves a round of applause, it would be notable (and awkward) if Dr. Mastrototaro hadn’t surrounded himself with the people for whom the Evie smart ring was made.
Evie Ring heads to fingers
Back in December, Evie Ring announced that its rings were officially HSA and FSA eligible, meaning for customers who already owned an Evie Ring or for those thinking of purchasing one, they could apply to get the ring reimbursed through their Health Savings Accounts or Flexible Spending Accounts.
Just around two years after its initial debut, Evie Ring is now shipping out to customers. We here at Connect the Watts are looking forward to first reviews of the ring and seeing how it stacks up against its competition.
