This past weekend, an NBA and Peloton crossover event took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a part of the NBA All-Star Weekend. Peloton and the NBA/WNBA announced a multi-year partnership last year, and the two companies worked together to provide an experience and entertainment for everyone – no matter their age or fitness level – with an event called “HIIT That Shot.” Head below to learn more.
Peloton earlier this year announced a contest that invited people to sign-up for a chance to win a Bike+ as well as tickets to the NBA All-Star game. Called The NBA Crossover Experience, guests were treated to:
…a multi-day interactive fan event that brings basketball culture to the forefront, featuring more than 350K sq. ft. of basketball and interactive experiences, player appearances, live performances and unique activations focused on art, music, fashion, technology and entertainment.
Part of The NBA Crossover Experience was an event called “HIIT That Shot,” which included five different workout stations; at each station, there was a combination workout that was to be completed. An anchor from 13News in Indianapolis moved through each of the stations:
- Station one: 20-second stationary Peloton Bike+ ride and then shooting a 3-point basket
- Station two: 10 consecutive sit-ups, followed by attempting to shoot a basket while sitting down
- Station three: 10 box jumps, followed by another basket attempt
- Station four: 10 bicep curls, followed by a basket attempt with a higher hoop
- Station five: 20-second Peloton Tread run, followed by one last basket attempt
When the five stations were completed, guests were able to see their scores on a leaderboard, where the top scorers won prizes.
Peloton instructors Rad Lopez, Tunde Oyeneyiin, and Kirsten Ferguson were all in attendance at the NBA All-Star weekend, and they each spent time engaging with fans while at HIIT That Shot.
Along with this particular crossover event over the weekend, Peloton also introduced NBA League Pass to Peloton Entertainment back in November of last year. We’re looking forward to seeing what Peloton and the NBA/WNBA partnership brings next to Peloton members and basketball fans alike.
