Peloton yesterday acknowledged two technological bugs that are apparently present for some Bike and Tread members, likely due to a recent app update. Head below for more details.
Over the course of the past week, Peloton members with Bike and Tread devices have noticed some technological difficulties while working out. For Bike owners, people have been struggling with the bike’s resistance. According to Pelo Buddy:
In essence, the resistance knob is extremely sensitive, and even slight adjustments can cause the resistance to jump or drop significantly. For example, if you’re trying to adjust the resistance to 35, a slight turn will cause it to jump to 41. When making the same slight turn to adjust the resistance back down, it will drop to 32. Another slight adjustment will make it settle on 36 – making the 35 resistance number essentially unattainable.
This would be extremely frustrating if it happened during a workout, and this particular resistance knob issue is present for both Bike and Bike+ owners. In response to one member’s inquiry about the sensitive knob’s resistance, Peloton said on Facebook:
Hi there! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is currently investigating why select Bike+ Members are experiencing this issue. In the meantime, please feel free to share your information with our team at support@onepeloton.com, and we will provide an update shortly on a fix.
While Peloton’s response to their customer only acknowledges Bike+ members, people who own the original Bike have made similar reports.
As for Tread users, some members have noted that their tablets won’t stay asleep. For some, when they turn the power off, the screen will go dark, and then turn back on, meaning the device is essentially on all of the time. Peloton acknowledged this to be a known issue, suggesting to users to perform a factory reset.
