Peloton digital members will no longer receive free Century Club T-shirt

Starting August 31, Peloton digital members will no longer receive a free Century Club T-shirt. Previously, all Peloton members would receive the free T-shirt upon completing 100 workouts from any single category. Now, Peloton is emailing digital members to inform them the Century Club T-shirt will no longer be available.

The removal of the free Century Club T-shirt is one of several features that have been discontinued from Peloton Digital memberships this year. When Peloton changed their scenic rides earlier this year, they were also removed from the digital app. The upcoming Peloton video game “Lanebreak” will also not be available for members without the Peloton Bike or Bike+.

The removal of the Century Club and other membership perks seems to be a part of Peloton’s overall strategy to discount and expand their digital app. Peloton has stated previously that the goal of the digital membership is to reach more people as a way to promote equipment and full memberships.

With Peloton’s recent expansion of student and military discounts and partnership with United Health to offer many of their 6 million members a free digital membership, removal of the free T-shirt was probably inevitable.
