The Axios Pro Rata podcast announced yesterday that it’s hosting a fundraiser on Saturday through a Peloton ride.
The fundraiser will be based on a 45-minute Together We Ride from March 28 led by Robin Arzon. Everyone is asked to be clipped in by Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. The group hashtag will be #TeamAxios.
Thank you for participating in the December 12th #TeamAxios Peloton ride to support the Restaurant Strong Fund. Please consider making a donation to support our ongoing initiative to provide individual grants to restaurant employees who have been impacted by COVID-19 closures. If you’re interested in making a “per rider” donation of any amount, please contact Dan Primack at dan@axios.com. You can cap your pledges to a specific amount and past rides have ranged from 800 to 11,000 riders.
This ride would have been a perfect time to use Peloton’s Sessions Feature, but it was removed a few weeks back as its feature set gets finalized. Built-in fundraisers might also be an option for Peloton to include in the future as part of its platform. Peloton could include a public option for people to donate based on the class results, a flat donation, or some other metric.
Outside of the fundraiser benefiting an industry that needs it, it’s also a major benefit for Peloton at a place brand-wise where it’s a part of more than just a workout routine.
Are you clipping in on Saturday? I’ll be there, along with a few others from the #ConnecttheWatts team, so join us in donating.
