Peloton last month sent an email to members who purchased a Tread+ an update about their Tread+ deliveries, which have now been delayed according to a recent update sent to those who preordered a Tread+. Keep reading below for more details.
For those who preordered a Peloton Tread+, the company sent an email last month that the treadmills would begin deliveries within the next two weeks (by February 7) and that – at the latest – all existing Tread+ orders would be delivered by the end of April.
In a recent email to members, Peloton said that the last batch of pre-ordered Tread+’s would be delivered through the first week of May.
While Peloton isn’t that far off from its initial delivery windows provided to customers who were likely looking forward to getting their Tread+ on time, it’s going to take longer than expected.
In 2021, Peloton and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPS) recalled Peloton Tread+ machines due to hundreds of incident reports, including the death of a child; the primary issue was that pets and people were being sucked underneath the Tread+. The fix, a rear guard, was approved by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, and in December of 2023, Peloton announced that the Tread+ was once again available.
Suffice it to say, Peloton has had an extremely rough go of the Tread+, and the language around the delivery of the machines continues to change and update. We are looking forward to the Tread+ getting into customer’s hands, and we are hopeful for a smooth journey with the Tread+ from here on out.
