When setting up and designing a home gym, it’s not necessary to have a ton of equipment in order to get an effective, full-body workout, which is what we love about our three favorite home gyms this week: they’re simple in design and in the equipment chosen. Head below to learn more.
First up is this home gym by Ottoman Design Studio:
What I love about this home gym setup is that there are only four things happening in this space: a treadmill, a weight rack, a shelving unit for additional exercise equipment and storage, and a mirror. There are hundreds of free weight exercises that can be accomplished for strength training, a piece of cardio equipment to get your heart rate up, and plenty of room to lay out and stretch on a yoga mat.

Total cost: $3,889
Our next home gym is brought to us courtesy of the Toll Brothers, an award-winning Fortune 500 company:
In this space, we have a NordicTrack Rower, a NordicTrack Bike, some storage space for exercise equipment, a mirror, and a really cool personalized piece of artwork. The cardio workouts here are clearly on lock, but I would love to see some strength training equipment as well; either way, the design is clean, simple, and to the point.
Cost breakdown
Total cost: $3,959
Lastly, we have this luxurious-looking at-home gym setup from LLD Design, another award-winning design group:
As the caption notes, LLD was asked to design a home gym that opened up into a garden, and the company decided to bring “elements of the outdoors in,” which really makes this a lovely space. There is a treadmill (or perhaps a very fancy walking pad?) for cardio, a stability ball, three kettlebells, and what looks to be some dumbbells as well. I love the minimalist nature of this gym, and with all of the natural light, motivation to exercise would come easily.
Cost breakdown
Total cost: $3,722

Whether you prefer the design of the first, second, or third home gym, they all have something in common: less can definitely be more when it comes to equipment. Which setup is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
