WHOOP now offering free one-month trial

After recently lowering its membership price by up to 20%, WHOOP is now offering a free one-month trial to anyone in the US this summer.

The WHOOP armband enables users to accurately track their daily strain, recovery, and sleep metrics. These metrics are then used to provide feedback to help optimize workout volume and intensity for better results.

With this new free one-month trial, WHOOP seems to be pushing to further build momentum after one of its biggest competitors, the Amazon Halo, was recently discontinued.

Referring to the Amazon Halo no longer being supported, WHOOP CEO Will Ahmed said,

You look back on it now, or certainly once they had launched that copycat product and you say to yourself, ‘Maybe we shouldn’t have done all that. Maybe we shouldn’t have engaged in that process.

In addition to lowering it’s price and now offering a free one-month trial, WHOOP also recently introduced two new features:

  • The Stress Monitor, which measures stress levels in real-time, and provides several customizable tools to help decrease or increase stress levels as desired.
  • The Strength Trainer, which allows users to track their lifts, to better quantify the strain created during strength training

Personally, I have been using the WHOOP 4.0 armband for over two years (see my review here). When I compared its accuracy against other smart wearables, I found WHOOP to be one of the most accurate wearables when it comes to tracking recovery metrics like Heart Rate Variability (HRV).
