Peloton and Spotify join forces to bring you more music to sweat to

Peloton and Spotify have ramped up their partnership this week by announcing a dedicated shelf on the Spotify Workout Hub that features seven rotating playlists from Peloton’s world-class instructors and fitness disciplines.

The Curated by Peloton shelf on Spotify includes “Running by Peloton,” “Tunde Oyeneyin’s Playlist,” “Strength by Peloton,” and more. Other featured playlists this month include those created by Robin Arzón, Adrian Wiliams, Ally Love, and Mariana Fernández.

In addition, Peloton members can access popular playlists such as “Today’s Top Hits,” “Door Knockers,” “Lofi Beats,” “Indigo,” and “Baila Reggaeton” to play across all programming, so you can play your favorite tracks whether you’re gearing up for a cycling, tread, or strength workout.

Peloton states on its blog:

These curated playlists offer an inside look into the songs featured in class, as well as the Instructors who teach with music that’s perfect for any workout.

Not sure where to start? Peloton has also added a “Find Your Instructor” quiz, accessible when users log in to Spotify, to help newbies determine which instructors’ playlists (and thereby classes) correspond to their tastes.

This isn’t the first time Peloton has collaborated with Spotify. Last year, Peloton released dozens of classes that featured songs from Spotify’s “Power Hour,” “Rock This,” and “Viva Latino” playlists. In turn, Spotify launched a feature dubbed “Track Love” that lets Peloton users save their favorite tunes played during a class.

Both companies have enjoyed robust growth since the pandemic, as more people are looking for motivation to work out at home (and music is obviously essential to this formula). As of the second quarter of 2021, Spotify had 175 million premium subscribers worldwide, up from 165 million at the end of the second quarter.

In other music news regarding Peloton, earlier this year, the fitness brand introduced Peloton Verzuz, a yearlong music collaboration with the webcast series, created by legendary music producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, to offer unique classes, leaderboard voting, and music.
