Peloton announces Verzuz music collaboration series

Peloton continues to expand the reach of its community and its presence in pop culture. The fitness brand has introduced Peloton Verzuz, a year-long music collaboration offering unique classes, leaderboard voting, and, of course, boppin’ music.

This comes as big news for Peloton since it blasted the collaboration announcement through social media, its blog, and emails directly to current owners. Peloton’s blog in particular did an excellent job of summarizing the new collaboration:

Just like how music brings us together across genres and generations, we’re uniting the Verzuz and Peloton experiences into an unmissable series of classes throughout our year-long partnership. Alongside Swizz Beatz and Timbaland themselves, get ready to sweat to the tune of head-to-head musical celebrations featuring iconic past Verzuz match-ups—all from your Peloton App, Bike or Tread—and keep reading to find out how to show up on the Leaderboard representing your favorite artists with Tags

Verzuz is a webcast series on Instagram created by legendary music producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland last year during the pandemic. The competition pits well-known music artists against one another to determine whose catalog is superior.

As a community built around friendly competition and music, Peloton saw a new avenue to grow its unique content and hopped on the opportunity:

We couldn’t help but recognize the parallels between our two brands, and wonder about the potential to come together to celebrate fitness, music and fandom in a new Peloton class experience. Today, we’re telling you: It’s happening.

Peloton x Verzuz

To be clear, Peloton will not be streaming any live performances from Verzuz or its featured artists. That will remain with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland as they expand their own growing audience.

That being said, the fitness company will make Verzuz music playlists available to all its subscribing members beginning tonight (3/29) when Monica and Brandy settle once and for who that boy actually belongs to.

Peloton will also offer unique classes for both the Bike and Tread featuring your favorite trainers sweating to these Verzuz tracks.

What’s especially cool for the Peloton community is that it will get to participate and decide who wins each battle.

Community is integral to the Peloton and Verzuz experiences, so naturally, Peloton Verzuz classes will be a celebration of coming together … with a little friendly rivalry. Bring your fandom to your workout and hype your favorite artists through Tags on the Leaderboard.

Members can tag an artist like #VerzuzBrandy or #VerzuzMonica in their profile to show their support before entering the Verzuz class. Peloton will then tally the number of tags for each artist and declare the winner at the end of each month.
