Ergatta adds new Progressive Push Programs and recalibration controls in newest update

On September 1, Ergatta released a software update that included new “Progressive Push Programs,” recalibration controls, and rebranded “Friends” as “Rivals.”

Traditional “Push Programs” from Errgatta are typically month-long playlists with a dedicated fitness goal or theme. These new “Progressive Push Programs” are giant and contain three entire Push Programs within them.

Designed by Chris Chang, the director of exercise science at Ergatta, these new multi-month-long programs are now able to include full-length progressive overload training. There are two initial options to choose from:

  • Getting Started Series: to help members completely new to rowing get off the couch and work their way up to a 1k
  • Power Camp program: a more advanced series that emphasizes sprint and speed training.

Ergatta has also added a new recalibration control. Normally after you complete 10-15 workouts, Ergatta uses your results to recalibrate future workouts to match your fitness level. Now, you have the ability to opt-out a workout from being used for recalibration purposes.

This is a very convenient feature, as there are definitely times you may not feel great but still want to get in a workout. And it is nice to know that you can choose to have results from those days not effect how difficult your future workouts will be.

Finally, Ergatta has also changed the name of “Friends” to “Rivals,” which is definitely reflective of Ergatta’s more fun and competitive approach to fitness. I cannot wait to jump on the rower and challenge some of my “rivals” this month!
