Peloton Tread will be available in the US and UK on August 30

After a lengthy delay due to safety concerns, the new Peloton Tread will be available to purchase in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom on August 30, and will be available in Germany in fall 2021.

The new Peloton Tread offers a lower-cost home workout option than the existing Tread+. After delays to ensure customer safety and available product for fast delivery, Peloton is now ready to begin delivering the new Peloton Tread.

“Our goal is to be the go-to fitness solution and the largest and safest home fitness brand in the world,” said John Foley, Peloton’s CEO and co-founder. “We’ve worked hard to make sure the new Tread truly earns its spot in Members’ homes. We’ll always continue to innovate our hardware, software and safety features to live up to our commitment to Member safety and to improving the full Member experience.”

What’s new with the Peloton Tread?

The 23.8″ HD touchscreen with integrated speakers tilts up and down 50 degrees, so you can have the best possible view regardless of the type of workout. It includes a 59″ traditional belt to allow for uninterrupted runs. The Peloton tread also contains a four-digit passcode that each user will need to enter to unlock the belt before starting a workout. All current Peloton Tread owners have access to this feature. The Peloton Tread also includes a physical safety key to help the belt come to a quick stop if needed.

Interested customers in the US, Canada, and the UK will be able to purchase the Peloton Tread on August 30 for $2,495 USD and for €2,495 in Germany this fall. The Peloton All-Access subscription is an additional monthly fee.

For the 1,000 or so Peloton Treads delivered in the US as part of the pre-launch limited distribution, Peloton and the CPSC have announced a free repair service. This repair ensures the touchscreen will remain securely attached to the base. The new Peloton Treads being sold as of August 30 have this fix incorporated.

The Peloton Tread+ is still not available to purchase, but Peloton is providing updates on its website.
