In a new series of classes now available from Peloton, the connected fitness company has introduced creative ways in which to incorporate exercise while commuting to and from work. Head below for more details about Peloton’s “Hack the Commute.”
Geared towards those who commute to and from work – specifically in the United Kingdom – Peloton has debuted “Hack the Commute,” which encourages members to be mindful of movement when they are waiting for their next bus, train, taxi, and so on based on Peloton research that showed the time people were wasting during their commutes.
Unless you work from home every day, you’re likely very familiar with the time spent traveling to and from the office. New Peloton research conducted with 4,000 UK consumers found that participants waste more than an hour a day commuting to and from work, with at least two unexpected delays tacking on an extra 22 minutes to their travel time. On average, participants commute more than three days a week, making for many hours lost in transportation. Worst of all, nearly half of participants said they hate their commute.
Given the aforementioned wasted time that Brits are spending waiting around trying to get to the next place, Peloton has debuted “Hack the Commute” as an initiative geared toward helping to close that discrepancy with its new slew of classes:
Commute smarter, not harder with on-the-go fitness and mindfulness classes that blend seamlessly with your journey.
“Hack the Commute” classes include interval runs, pop walks, meditations, stretches, and more – a nice sampling of varying modalities that Peloton has to offer its members.
To properly introduce the new initiative, on February 7, Peloton had a kick-off event at its Peloton Studios London that included a warm-up and a 5K run. Even though this content is geared towards our friends across the pond, there are plenty of people in the States who live in walkable, commute-heavy cities who would benefit from Peloton’s “Hack the Commute” initiative.
