This easy 5-minute yoga routine will keep you energized from morning ’til night

If you find yourself dragging or lacking energy throughout the day and coffee isn’t enough to keep you motivated, give this easy 5-minute yoga routine a try. Head below for more details.

It can be challenging for anyone to find time solely meant for themselves, let alone time in the morning when we are so often rushing around to get wherever it is we need to go. However, with this quick 5-minute yoga routine, you are not only taking the time for self care, you are also setting yourself up to be more motivated and energized throughout the day.

To stimulate blood flow, enhance flexibility, and improve digestion, this quick yoga routine will help you to start (and keep) your day off right (via Times of India).

Yoga Twist

Beginning with a Yoga Twist, you’ll want to be sitting cross-legged on the ground. First, you will inhale to lengthen your spine, then exhale, twisting to your right with your left hand on your right knee and your right hand behind you. Inhale once more to the center and exhale, this time twisting left. Repeat several times on each side.

Low Crescent Lunge

While remaining on the floor, take your right foot forward into a lunge position, keeping your left knee on the floor (or you can lift it up). Inhale while lifting your arms over your head, then as you exhale, let yourself sink deeper in the lunge. Switch sides and repeat.

Crescent Lunge, Firsts of Fire

From the low lunge of the previous move, lift your back knee off of the ground, clench your fists, and vigorously move them up and down. This will send energy flowing through your arms and your core, which will help to wake up both your body and your mind.

Adho Mukha Savasana

Beginning in a downward dog position, lift your right leg up as high as you can on an inhale. When you exhale, bend your right knee, twist your torso, and bring your right knee to your left elbow – then you can inhale once more, extend your leg back, exhale, and switch sides.
