Walmart last week unveiled its Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness center at its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. In an attempt to retain employees and persuade future employees, Walmart’s wellness center has fitness options for everyone. Head below for more details.
On Friday, January 12, at its headquarters in Arkansas, Walmart opened the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness as a part of the retail giant’s push into the health and wellness space. If you are an associate of Walmart or Sam’s Club, you can use the facilities provided.
Speaking of, Walmart didn’t skimp on anything that the space has to offer. Included in the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness is a yoga and sound bath studio, a tennis court, a basketball court, a hot tub, cryotherapy, a lap pool, squash courts, and childcare through its Youth Activity Center.
Investing in the health and wellness of employees is a newer concept for many companies and organizations and is very much in alignment with what Millenial and Gen Z workers are looking for from an employer. When millions of workers went from brick-and-mortar offices to working from home, and people realized they were able to accomplish just as much (if not more) from their living rooms as they were from their cubicles, there was a shift in the workforce. Employees – now more than ever – want to know that the people they are working for care about their mental and physical health, and Walmart wants to show it cares via the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness facility.

Oftentimes when we’re thinking about wellness, we may be thinking about wellness in a physical sense or wellness in a mental sense, whereas whole health is really sort of a more encompassing concept. This space was purposefully designed to provide you the opportunity to pause and reflect on what you need most.
At the center of the facility is a promenade meant to entice people to “gather, learn, reflect, and be mindful.” There is also a meditation garden, a space for outdoor fitness classes, and plenty of walking trails.
Full-time, part-time, and temporary Walmart and Sam’s Club Associates in Northwest Arkansas can get a Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness membership for $12 every two weeks and $21 every two weeks for family members.
