iFit launches mental health-focused content iFit Mind

In today’s world, we have become more attuned to the fact that health and fitness extends past our physical selves. Mental health is just as important, if not more to our daily lives, our happiness, and success. To aid in this process, interactive connected fitness platform iFit has introduced iFit Mind, a new content library of over 300 workouts specifically focused on mental health.

iFit is the interactive and connective fitness platform implemented on the equipment under the ICON Health and Fitness umbrella as well as its own standalone app. This includes prominent fitness brands like NordicTrack, ProForm, and FreeMotion. Owners of these brands gain membership and access to iFit’s vast library of workout content both on and off the machine, as well as inside and out of the studio.

With the recent announcement of iFit Mind, the connected fitness platform is taking its content to a whole different level, focusing less on sweat and more on inner peace. This mental health focused content combines wellness practices like meditation, breathing exercises, and visualization along with its usual interactive and virtual personal training.

This new wave of content from iFIT offers, mindful workouts for treadmills, ellipticals, studio bikes, and rowers for those who already own ICON products. The iFIT app also offers customers equipment-free sessions like yoga and guided sleep meditations.

There are plenty of other fitness products and workouts offering content like yoga and meditation, but iFit Mind has added experts in neuroscience, mental conditioning, and sports psychology to talk you through the mental health obstacles we all face. All in beautiful and serene real-life settings.

For example, many people face anxiety attacks in their lives, so iFit Mind has created a workout with acclaimed sports psychologist Jarrod Spencer Psy.D to help you learn to manage the situation in the event of an attack:

The workout, modeled after the ‘shape’ of an anxiety attack, gradually increases the user’s heart rate by way of iFIT’s patented LiveAdjust technology that automatically adjusts the treadmill or elliptical’s incline. As the user makes their way up the peak of a hill overlooking a harbor in Antigua, Dr. Spencer dispenses helpful tips and techniques that can be used to calm an anxiety attack. The workout takes a session that would traditionally be an abstract conversation in an office setting and makes it tactile, experiential, and incomparably engaging.

To begin, iFit Mind already consists of over 300 workouts and over 20 different series. Looking ahead, the company plans to release eight new iFIT Mind series per month for its members. Current iFit members should see the iFit Mind in the main navigation in the app starting May 1. You can also view the complete introduction video to iFit Mind below:
