When Robin Arzón announced her pregnancy a few months back during a live ride, the Peloton community rejoiced with her. Today, Peloton is further expanding its community by launching a prenatal program as first reported by Yahoo.
Peloton is producing a docu-style series for YouTube following Arzón — Peloton’s vice president of fitness programming — and her journey and fitness insights throughout her pregnancy. The first installment in the series is now available with the remaining episodes arriving in February and March, when she’s due to have the baby.
Peloton is also building a prenatal program for Peloton that combines strength and cycling workouts tailored for expectant mothers. The first round of this prenatal content arrives on Peloton this Friday, December 18. Arzón said:
You know I got my pre- and postnatal certification before I was pregnant and you can read all about it in a book but until you have another human taking up space in your abdomen… It’s a little different, so I created the program — so women understand that they are the strongest creatures on this planet.
CTW’s Take
When I heard Robin was pregnant, I actually mentioned to someone else that I thought Peloton would expand their programming to focus on pregnant women. Peloton’s continued strategy of expanding the types of workouts it offers on and off its hardware will further cement its lead in the connected fitness industry.
