Peloton releases beta of new sessions feature for group workouts

graphical user interface, website

According to a new Peloton support page, a sessions feature is now in beta.

This new feature will allow members to start an on-demand class at the same time so the leaderboard is in sync.

This feature has been rumored for most of the year, and it looks to be finally on its way to rolling out. Sessions are only available for classes that are at least 20 minutes long. It’s currently not supported on Scenic Rides, Scenic Runs, Yoga, Stretching, or Cardio classes at this time.

In the Class tab, you can select a class from the archives eligible for a Peloton Session. An eligible class for Sessions will be marked by a banner that says “Session Beta.” I was able to try one this morning as sessions start every few minutes, and there were 100 people on the leaderboard for a class from yesterday. Overall, it was a lot of fun and it was great.

It’s not known at this time if or when it will come to all on-demand classes (via Pelobuddy).
