SoulCycle’s at-home bike launches with Variis fitness service — Netflix, Amazon, and Disney+ coming soon

After a “soft launch” earlier this year, SoulCycle has officially released its at-home Bike to the 48 continental states.

SoulCycle’s live and on-demand classes stream to the at-home bike’s screen from its built-in Variis service. A standalone Variis mobile app also launches today for iPhone and Android. The standalone app is a similar experience to the Peloton Digital app. Forbes released the news earlier today.

Equinox Media and Variis CEO Jason LaRose, “We launched this March to select markets and had planned to test and iterate before going national. With the pandemic, it felt critical to accelerate our roadmap and give our members and riders the ability to pursue fitness from wherever they are. On the first day we started taking SoulCycle at-home bike orders, consumers from 47 states and 11 countries were reaching out to us asking when the bike would be available to them.”

SoulCycle’s bike retails for $2,500, and it requires a $40/month membership. The monthly membership powers the SoulCycle at-home bike and gives riders unlimited, on-demand access to content from SoulCycle and other fitness partners.

It’s being reported that Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ will also soon be available to stream on the bike for those who want to free-ride while watching a movie.

“Demand for the bike has consistently outperformed forecasts, and sales have increased 115% week-over-week upon our recent introduction of financing and live classes, all of which drove us to double production heading into the tail end of the year, while allowing us to maintain an industry-leading delivery window of 1-3 weeks.”

The bike includes a 21.5″ touch screen with a 1920×1080 resolution. The speaker setup is a 2X8W speaker with a 15W woofer. The bike weighs 350 pounds.
