As part of Peloton’s Bike+ announcement, they also said that Bike Bootcamps would be coming as well.
Similar to the Tread Bootcamps, Bike Bootcamps are a multi-part workout where you start with a warm-up, cycle for a period, do either a weights or bodyweight workout, and then cycle for another round followed by a cool down.
A few minutes ago, Peloton added a new “collection” that adds four Bike Bootcamps. Three of the classes are a half-hour while the final one is 45 minutes long. Two of the Bootcamp classes have a beginner, and the others have the intermediate label.
Looking through each of them, it appears it’s a 50/50 split on time on the bike vs. off the bike. Even though it was originally mentioned with Bike+, Peloton Digital, and Bike users can also take the classes. Bike users won’t be able to turn their screen, but if they can see the screen after they unclip, they’ll be able to still follow the workout. Obviously you’ll need weights (for the classes that use weights) and a pair of regular shoes after you unclip.
I plan on taking one of the classes tonight to get a feel for how they are. If you’ve already taken one, be sure to leave a comment below. As of now, none of them are on the live schedule, so it appears to be something that’s on-demand only.
