Pelothon 2020 kicks off tomorrow – pick your team

If you are planning to participate in the Summer 2020 Pelothon with Peloton, then today is the day to make sure you’ve joined a team. Starting tomorrow, you’ll need to make sure you take a class with each instructor from your team.

I am on team #BREAKTHROUGHCREW, so I have to workout with Kendall Toole, Adrian Williams, Matt Wilpers, Chase Tucker, Jenn Sherman, and Emma Lovewell at some point this coming week (7/13-7/19).

Peloton has changed some of their wording in regards to the live classes for each time. When the 2020 Pelothon was announced, the marketing materials showed specific workout times.

In the current version, it shows these live workouts as optional. I assume this is due to people being upset about all of the workout times being in the middle of the day.

Find every class you need on your team’s Collection. For week 1, there’s no opt-in required — your participation will count as long as you have a team Tag on your profile and your badge will be awarded on Monday, July 20!

It appears each team will have a collection of on-demand classes that will count towards the goal for week one, and the live classes are an optional way to get credit. Week two mentions live classes as being a requirement, though. It’s not clear if the mid-day workout will be the only classes that count.

This week, feel the unwavering energy of our live classes from the comfort of home! You must opt-in via the Challenges tab on your Bike, Tread or app and take any two live classes. Your badge will be awarded once you complete the Challenge
