Rumors have been swirling for months that Peloton has plans to expand their product lineup. On top of a lower cost treadmill, it’s been rumored that they are releasing a rower at some point in the. future.
On the PelotonCycle Reddit community, a picture of a Peloton instructor Ben Aldis using a rower has appeared.
There isn’t much to go on at this time, but it certainly appears like a legitimate photo. It’s rumored that Studio 3 in Peloton’s new headquarters in Hudson Common will contain the rowing studio.
Popular technology analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also noted he expected Peloton to expand their product lines.
We think that major growth drivers for Peloton and suppliers in 2021 will be: 1) the continuous growth of existing product shipments thanks to the at-home fitness trend, 2) a rapid market share gain in the European market, and 3) new product shipments, including the set-top box (STB) and rowing machine.
Based on this photo, and the information from Kuo, it’s clear that it’s a real image. When will Peloton announce the new product? It’s unclear if the timing will be affected by COVID-19. Peloton has had difficulty keeping up with demand for its at home fitness products for much of the year.
