Diddy music ‘paused’ on Peloton for new classes

In response to last weeks’ CNN publication showing hotel surveillance video of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs assaulting his then girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, Peloton has decided to pause the use of any Diddy songs in new classes.

While Peloton is currently no longer including Diddy songs in new class playlists, they have decided not to purge any previous classes featuring his music. The only exceptions are two classes being removed from Peloton’s featured artist series that featured Bad Boy Entertainment.

Peloton responded to concerned members on its Facebook page stating:

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, on our platform. This means our Instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns and thank you for being a Member of our Peloton community.

Peloton’s decision not to purge previous classes featuring Diddy’s music is likely a good decision for the time being, allowing members to still take the classes for the time being.

Back in 2022, Peloton’s made a similar statement about the removal of Kayne West’s music for future classes. All classes featuring West’s music were eventually purged several months later. Using this as a guide, members may want to anticipate that all classes with Diddy’s music will be removed on a similar timeline.
