Wahoo Fitness debuts GoPro connectivity, music control, more

Wahoo Fitness, maker of the Bolt V2 and Roam V2 bike computers, has announced three new connectivity features, including GoPro connectivity, the ability to control existing ANT and smart lights, and the ability to control music from your phone. Keep reading below to learn more.

For bike light control connectivity on the Volt V2 and Roam V2, ANT+ will let you connect to any ANT+ lights, which could include Garmin, Trek, Bontrager, See.Sense, Cycliq, Cannondale, and more. In order for the lights to work, they have to be Ant+ enabled rather than your run-of-the-mill smart lights.

Once you go through the pairing process, you can open the Wahoo ELEMNT app and choose to automatically turn your bike lights on or off when your ride is starting or stopping.

If you have a GoPro, you will soon have the option to enable GoPro integration that allows you to control your GoPro camera on the Wahoo Bolt V2 and Roam V2. To pair with your device, you’ll open the Bluetooth pairing menu, you’ll add a sensor, where you’ll see the GoPro listed as an option. Once connected, you can switch between photos, videos, timelapse, start/stop recording, and decide between GoPro presets. It should be noted that this feature is not yet available.

Finally, you can now control the music on your phone via ELEMNT – of course, we don’t mean literally just music, but any podcasts or YouTube videos you may enjoy are now listenable with Wahoo’s new connectivity feature. You will also have the option to control the volume, pause/resume, and skip forward and backward (via DC Rainmaker).
