Elegant, simple, and stacked – this at-home gym has it all

I love a home gym setup that doesn’t have a lot of fuss or muss to it – at the end of the day, all anyone needs is their own body weight and 1-2 pieces of low-tech exercise equipment in order to accomplish a full-body workout. Today’s gym features a trampoline, a seated bench, and a dumbbell set. Head below for more details.

Favorite features

The first thing that jumps out in this particular home gym setup is the trampoline. We haven’t yet reviewed or critiqued an at-home gym space that has a trampoline, and given that this space is a bit smaller, it makes the trampoline stand out that much more. The design elements of this space are gorgeous with the chandelier front and center, and I love the dumbbell rack with the workout bench.

And of course, it goes without saying, that the mirrors are essential here. I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to make note of it when reviewing at-home gyms: Having a mirror is a must, not an option. Without at least one mirror to keep tabs on your form while exercising, you are putting yourself at risk for injury.

Suggestions for improvement

I’m a little surprised that in this space there isn’t at least an air bike or an elliptical of some sort facing the windows, but without the full perspective of the gym, maybe there simply isn’t enough room for a piece of standard cardio equipment. There are of course exercises that can be done cardio-wise on the trampoline, but there’s only so much you can do, and I feel like it would get boring.

Cost breakdown

  • Ritfit Dumbbell Set & Rack – $610
  • Home Gym Mirror – $160
  • Flybird Weight Bench – $150
  • Darchen Trampoline – $70

Total cost: $990

Connect the Watts’ Take

This is an especially lovely gym space with a color palette and aesthetic that would motivate you while simultaneously feeling calm. I love the trampoline and the two mirrors, making this an ideal space in which to work out with a partner.
