Strava and Chipotle team up to help customers reach fitness goals

Strava, the 120-million member strong fitness community, and Chipotle Mexican Grill today announced a new partnership in hopes of encouraging and rewarding healthy habits in 2024. Keep reading below the fold to learn more.

Athletes 🤝 Protein

Chipotle will be the first restaurant brand to partner with Strava. According to the press release, Chipotle will build a customized challenge and various segments on Strava, “which will reward athletes with the chance at free Lifestyle Bowls.” Together, Strava and Chipotle are hoping to help its customers and members to continue building active, healthy lifestyles.

Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s chief brand officer:

We know getting through January is always the hardest hill to climb on the journey toward health and wellness goals. With the help of challenges on the Strava platform and our curated Lifestyle Bowls, we are giving our fans the right tools to sustain healthy habits and win in 2024.

No Quitters Day

January 12 is, apparently, the day most people quit their New Year’s resolutions. For Chipotle’s part in keeping healthy beyond January 12, they will be offering the first 30,000 Chipotle members a free Lifestyle Bowl, of which they have seven bowls in the line-up, including balanced macros bowl, veggie full bowl, wholesome bowl, keto salad bowl, high protein bowl, plant-powered bowl, and a go half veggie bowl.

Chipotle’s Lifestyle Bowls

In an attempt to keep momentum going beyond January 12, Strava will introduce a national streak-based challenge on January 15 to help motivate members who continue working toward their health and wellness goals. Per the press release:

Chipotle will recognize athletes who complete the challenge with a chance to receive a free side of guac for logging at least 20 minutes of activity twice per week on Strava from January 15 through January 28.

Connect the Watts’ Take

While I am not personally a part of Strava’s digital community, I do work out a lot and I do also love Chipotle. I think this is a strong partnership that makes a lot of sense, and I also have a lot of friends who are runners who specifically enjoy Chipotle after a big run because its bowls are so packed with protein and vegetables.

I hope they get to be one of the first 30,000 to get a free Lifestyle Bowl!
