New Hydrow Wave Rower releases at $1,000 less than the original

Today, Hydrow is launching their brand new rower, called the Hydrow Wave, for $1,000 less than the original. At $1,495, the Hydrow Wave rowing machine addresses two barriers that previously were an issue for many potential buyers: cost and space.

The Hydrow Wave is built with a two-piece polycarbonate monocoque frame, making the new rowing machine 30% lighter than the original Hydrow.

With this new design also comes the ability for the rower to be stored upright safely without additional accessories. When stored upright, the footprint of the Hydrow Wave is just 26.5″L x 30″W.

Additionally, since the Hydrow Wave is lighter and more compact, it can be sent via UPS as quickly as overnight. No more needing to schedule an appointment with XPO and hoping that the delivery goes smoothly.

Connect The Watts’ Take

I am a big fan of indoor rowing, and having reviewed almost every rower currently out, Hydrow has been one of my favorites. I feel like it is the most enjoyable rower to ride on, and the rowing content is some of the best out there.

The only issues I really have with the Hydrow are that it can’t be stored upright easily and that it is very expensive. The Hydrow Wave definitely solves both of these issues.

This feels like a big win for Hydrow as well, given that it seems the Peloton Rower may be delayed or canceled and that most competitive rowing machines cost over $2,000.

My only concern is to see how the Hydrow Wave feels to use. If it feels as smooth and enjoyable to ride as the original, then this may end up being one of the best-connected fitness releases this year.
