Peloton’s new Pause Button has finally arrived

Peloton’s highly anticipated Pause Button has finally arrived in the latest update for the Peloton Bike. Now you can pause on-demand classes for those times when you forget your water bottle, have to make a bathroom trip, or take care of your kids. Here’s what you need to know about Peloton’s new Pause Button.

First announced during Peloton’s Homecoming Event earlier this year, the Pause Button has been eagerly awaited by members for a while. To pause your Peloton workout, simply tap the screen and hold the pause button to confirm you’d like the class to stop.

When paused, your progress and aggregated metrics come to a halt as well. You can still receive high fives when the class is stopped, but you will need to resume the class to give a high five back.

If you are shooting for the leaderboard, be careful when deciding to pause your class. Once a class is paused, you will lose your rank on the Leaderboard (although you will still remain listed in “Here Now” ordered by total output).

Pausing a class does not impact one’s ability to progress in programs, challenges, achievements, streaks, milestones, or personal records.

Finally, the Pause Button will be coming to the Peloton Tread in the future, but no date has been given yet.
