Fix for the Peloton Tread is approved by CPSC

Earlier this year, Peloton recalled both its Tread and Tread+ in compliance with safety issues investigated by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Now, it looks like the Peloton Tread may be ready to be re-released as a fix has been approved by the CPSC.

The issue for the Peloton Tread was an issue with the screw that would cause the screen to occasionally become loose and fall off while taking a class. Peloton has not shared exactly what this fix is, but the company has stated owners should soon be able to schedule a technician to make the fix for free.

The Peloton FAQ page now states:

Starting in August 2021 we are now ready to install the CPSC- approved repair to ensure that the touchscreen console remains securely attached to the Tread at all times. To schedule your free service visit, please check your email for instructions or reach out to support here: support.onepeloton.com

This should mean that we will likely see the Peloton Tread available again for purchase soon. However, the more popular Peloton Tread+ has not received an approved fix and will likely not be ready until 2022.
