During Homecoming 2021, Peloton removed their old scenic rides and runs classes and launched three new versions of scenic classes. These were instructor-led or guided scenic classes, time-based scenic classes, and distance-based scenic classes. However, since the update, Peloton members have not been able to use the Leaderboard in the new scenic rides and runs classes.
Peloton members use the Leaderboard to motivate themselves while competing with others and to see how they measure up against their previous efforts. So not having this feature took away some motivation for members during these scenic classes. Peloton has rolled out an update to the Bike and Tread that restores the Leaderboard to most scenic classes. Keep in mind that these new scenic classes are only available on the Peloton Bike and Tread, not digital apps.
Once you have updated your device, the Leaderboard should show up for the instructor-led scenic classes as well as the time-based scenic classes. Unfortunately, if you take a distance-based scenic class, the Leaderboard is still not available. This is most likely because the space on the screen where the Leaderboard is usually shown, has a new widget that shows your remaining distance and progress.
