Ergatta raises additional $30 million in funding

Connected fitness rower startup Ergatta has announced an additional $30 million in Series A funding led by Advance Venture Partners and other industry leaders. Ergatta plans to use the additional funds to expand its content of game-based fitness, and further separate itself from a crowded market.

Ergatta is a home rower manufacturer and one of the newer connected fitness brands to hit the market in recent years. It currently offers its lone flagship product, the Ergatta Rower. The Rower’s cherry wood frame exemplifies the home decor look of its design, and its content is in a league of its own.

Ergatta is the only rowing machine on the market to be focused around a competitive approach inspired around gaming. Workouts are focused on goals within a program, as well as races and intervals against others.

In a recent press release, Ergatta revealed it has acquired an additional $30 million in Series A funding to introduce sweeping advancements to its digital experience. It also hopes to build a more tight-knit community of rowers to increase even fiercer competition among them.

Funding to grow Ergatta content

The funding was led by Advance Venture Partners (AVP), a group of long-term investors based in New York and San Francisco. The new influx of cash puts Ergatta’s valuation at $200 million in total. AVP founding Partner Courtney Robinson shares her thoughts about the investment opportunity:

We believe the future of fitness is at home, brought to life by engaging and personalized digital content. Ergatta’s unique workout experience resonates with a large, unaddressed portion of the market that thrives off competition, sport, and continuous improvement.

Ergatta now looks to use this funding to gain a competitive edge using its… competitive edge. With the funding announcement, Ergatta also shared plans for additional competitive content on the way for its rowers. This will include new single and multiplayer games, live races, and competitive leagues.

No news yet on when rowers may see this new content roll out, but we at CTW will keep an eye out to make sure you’re in the know, whenever that does happen.
