Peloton social media indicates President Biden will bring his Peloton to the White House

Update 1/20/21: Peloton’s Twitter account has posted a meme that would indicate that Joe Biden’s Peloton will be allowed at the White House. There’s been no official word if Peloton had to make modifications to the bike to appease White House security and The Secret Service

A new report from CNN is detailing the moving process for outgoing US President Donald Trump and incoming US President-elect Joe Biden. One notable item that might be making the trip: Biden’s Peloton.

It is not clear, for example, whether the Biden family’s moving trucks will be allowed to haul the president-elect’s beloved Peloton from his Wilmington, Delaware, home into the White House residence. The standalone bikes typically have video cameras that connect to the internet, which could be one of few minor hiccups.

We learned earlier this year that Biden rode his Peloton every morning at 8 a.m. before beginning his day, so it’s not surprising he’d want to bring it to the White House. The potential problem is the security of the video camera. The video chat functionality isn’t one of the features I use daily, but it is available, so it’s something cybersecurity experts in the US government should be concerned about.

On top of the video chat functionality, Peloton runs on top of Android, not necessarily a current version of it. For Peloton, it would be a major win for Biden to continue his daily trend, so I am certain they could quickly produce a bike with whatever modifications the White House required.
